Midlife Fitness for Women Workshop
Did you know that Menopause affects many women in different ways? There are many symptoms that come with menopause. It makes no difference that you are healthy and eat healthy. How the symptoms will affect each of us is unique to you.
What is menopause? Bottom line up front, it is when your menstruation cycle permanently stops, for about a year; you don’t really know for sure until then. It is important to know your body.
I just finished a course on Midlife Fitness for Women Workshop online through Aerobics Fitness Association of America, AFAA. The study described the stages of menopause as Premenopause, Perimenopause, Menopause, Early or Induced menopause, and Post menopause. Thank goodness I didn’t have all the symptoms most women have, but I did have my share.
Recognizing these changes when it comes to fitness and staying active helps promote a better, fuller lifestyle change as you age. Allowing you ways to combat some of the symptoms through exercise minimizes the effects of bloating, hot flashes, or depression. It is good to let your personal trainer know how you are feeling and they can better manage your fitness program.
